Maybe I'm arriving very late at this, but a miserable Manc who likes a moan... who has filled his team with Smiths...

I'd be very concerned if I was DJ at this stage.

I must confess that Wellens has started to rather piss me off with his incessant whinging over the last couple of weeks, I had put this down to being a miserable twat, so pleased some can articulate this somewhat better than me!

His moaning is starting to grate slightly with me as well.

Yes you cant legislate for injuries, although given the injury history of some perhaps you should. Yes you can't legislate for sudden player retirements.

However, its a squad that's now almost entirely his of his own building.  25 players is a big enough squad at this level and if he feels its unbalanced then he probably needs to accept some of the blame for that.

I still love the fella though

I've spent about fifteen years on this forum and I think I've finally peaked.

Nixon reckons Gotts is going to Lincoln instead, by the way.

What I'm a little confused about, Doughty has gone no pay off etc, he was already budgeted for as he was under contract, and it was mentioned somewhere he was one of the higher earners, does his wages not become free for Wellens to get a replacement in, isn't this why the decision was made so early by Doughty so Wellens had time to get a replacement, and now seemingly he has no money to spend on wages.

I know clubs are under pressure etc, but surely this was all agreed and discussed with Mr Chairman, Wellens has been banging on about getting a Doughty replacement for long enough.

Maybe the forthcoming £1.38m from the PL may help loosen the purse strings.

Personally, I’d rather tuck it away in case of . . .

I'm clutching wildly here, but I wonder if the global pandemic meaning the club is likely to have an income slightly adjacent to fuck all this season might have had an impact on previously made spending projections?

All budgetting was done on the logic we'd have fans by October. Everything is now fucked.

Again, if we're solvent and in L1 come May, that'll be amazing.
