No mention of Isgrove and Woolery by Hodgetts either. Think we can say they wont be back!

Probably more of a case that Hodgetts didn't ask the question.

He’s asked every other time i suppose. I would hazard a guess both are on more than Danny Rose and from what RW said he wants too much money

Ben Reeves is too much like Michael Doughty. Doesn't look like he'll be kept on.

Akin Odimayo made errors vs. Bristol Rovers but they still seem keen on him.

Nathan Baxter they hope to get back.

Emnes gone - No pace.

Danny Rose still pending but RW is focussing elsewhere.

Matthew Smith (potential Arsenal loanee) - Negotiating.

Thank you

Interesting that he never mentioned Thompson when asked, only Baxter who was one they’re unsure on.

Think we can assume that Woolrey & Isgrove won’t be back now. He mentioned attacking players needed without using those boys names.

The forward was Tyrell Waite: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrell_Waite

Sounds as if the budget will be on keepers and four attacking players. Don’t think we can assume that Isgrove and Woolery are amongst that group or not, we just don’t know.

Seems a little odd as he only signed a new contract at Tamworth start of last month, I know that happens all the time but surprised we didn't try and get him on a free before hand.

Well we appear to be doing with Lincoln what Blackpool are doing with us.

Tyrell Waite yet another ex Lincoln player linked with us after Payne, Chapman and Pett.

Nothing wrong with giving trials to non league players, especially attackers, there are many gems out there just ask Peterborough who seem to pull one a year out of the bag.

Can play striker or wide man much like Woolery.

Obligatory youtube video.

God who soundtracks these bloody videos.

Cannot decide whether he has pace or not, looks like one of those players who moves fast whilst not looking like he is, the majority of the open play/assists was just him basically completing a pass.

In Wellens we Trust.

A lincoln fan I know says that was ALL he had but that was 4 seasons ago, hes played a lot lower down the pyramid with varying success since then. Sounds a lot like Woolery to me.

Apart from Woolery has had a very solid football league career and this guy has never really played above the 6th tier...

By that I mean strong, quick but not a natural goalscorer, his style not his career.

I am not one of the many Woolery knockers on here, I want him to stay.

But I think the fact that we are trying out players in his position and similar style in friendlies means that Wellens isn't confident he will sign a new contract for us.

I'd be astonished if this chap gets anywhere close to a deal. We've got a small squad and we need numbers to help us limit minutes for the senior pros before the loan signings can start happening.

We need 7-8 new signings (2x GK, 2x ST, 2x AMF/WG, 1x CDM, 1x CB).

5 of them are going to be loans you'd guess. The CB from Reading and a permanent keeper, plus maybe one of KW and Issy, doesn't leave many slots left for permanent acquisitions

With the new rules about salary cap and squad size limits then a maximum player budget of £2.5m and a squad size of a maximum of 22 players over the age of 21, which leaves us with....

Fryers
Broadbent
Baudry
Reid
Palmer
Doughty
Lyden
Iandolo
Hunt
Conroy
Caddis
Grant
Hope
Payne
DJ

As the 15 current O21 players all signed pre cap introduction, so we can guess all will be on an allocated a yearly wage towards the budget of £113,000pw (the average was announced by Ipswich on Saturday) going by the cap guidelines, making roughly £1.7m in wages, leaving Wellens around £800k left from the budget for new signings.

Plus possibly as well
Rose
Woolery
Isgrove

Which if they sign will make it a squad of 18 "over the age of 21" players counting towards the budget cap.

That will leave us a maximim number of possible Over 21 age signings of between 4 and 7 if needed depending if exisiting  contracts are renewed or not.

So if Power allows Wellens to sign players to the full value of the salary cap (possible but maybe unlikely) then that means Wellens still has 1/3 of the playing budget still to spend on players, and, as most loans will be U21 then they wont count towards the salary cap.
