Don't know much about Jack Payne, but from the video clips (I know, I know) and the glowing references from his former clubs' fans, then he would seem an excellent addition, if he signs.

I haven't read back but I thought we were talking about Max Payne, which is weird because he's a fictional ex cop with severe psychological issues after his wife and kid were murdered.
Sent from my CLT-L09
I thought there was a footballer called Max Payne buy soon realised I was getting him mixed up with Max Power, the man whose name you’d love to touch, but mustn’t touch....

Standrad bamboo reaction to an entirely correct observation about his posting habits.

Good news re Payne when it happens. Name rang a bell, and he looks the type of spark that will add something at 10 or out wide. Nixon has also said there’s nothing in the Bogle rumour. Out of all of the twitter sources, he does seem to get more right than not. It must be quite a day he has at this time of year, constantly haranguing agents!

He is usually right.
And he may not have been exactly 'wrong' about Grant. He said Bradford were 'in for him', which they may have been.

Hi all, Long time listener, first time poster.
From reading, seeing clips about Payne he would appear to be a very good signing for league 1 (hopefully us). I'm unsure on the Bogle rumour tbh, lots of those ''ITK'' sites are claiming he's coming however Nixon has said no, I did notice he is followed by lots of media folk, footballers & managers alike (even Wellens) so I would go with what he's saying for now.

He seems to get all the info on club takeovers, admin etc. Maybe get gets tipped off and he reciprocates with the occasional ‘shop window’ tweet for an agent’s player.

Not criticising Wellens/Jewell at all but almost every player linked to us has been a central midfielder.
We have signed Grant, alongside Doughty, Palmer, Lyden, as well as youngster McGilp, add to that Matt Smith, Ellis Champman, Tom Pett, Ben Reeves, Jack Payne, Reece Cole all linked so far.
Other than Donohue all the players linked have been central midfielders/wide men so far.
I wouldn't worry too much about that. We had that a lot last summer and thought we signed too many, also in Jan when we bought in Palmer. With the type of injuries our better players get there is a high chance that at times Grant may have to fill in at CB and Lyden & Doughty are not available. I am glad we are looking at solid aternatives

You’ve got to hope Hyabb isn’t one of our all too few female posters. The traditional welcome after a first post may seem a tad indelicate.
