It must depend on the manner of their departure.
For me it comes down to 3 options when a player returns on the playing staff of the opposition. If a player leaves who gave his all for the Town over a long period then yes some applause is fine, like Steve White when he left and played for Hereford on his return to the club. If we don't offer a new contract and a player leaves on good terms with the fans after playing well for us then maybe a warm reception would be acceptible. If a player turns down a new contract with us in favour of joining a different club, especially one in the same division then its a definate no from me to any positive recognition from fans, in fact quite the opposite would be allowed. |

Still don’t know the reason why Doyle and Grant were only given 6 month contracts in January.
Was it to protect the club if we didn’t get promoted? Or was it a sweetener for them both to sign and leave them free to get a better deal next season - which has happened.
Honestly don’t know if any of them will make an impact in L1.
