Not got long to sort out recruitment, though. By the time we start training it’s only 5 weeks til the season (may) starts.

Can clubs in L1 and 2 really afford to play even a few games with no fans?

Whoever gets a home game against Sunderland first up is going to lose out on a large attendance.

There'll be alot of value late in the window. We'll have a tricky start then bring in 3-5 game changers last week of the window

Also signing league 2 players on 3 yr deals doesn't sound like a plan to get out of league 1.

Very, very true. In some ways I suspect they see us as a threat, which we are and irrespective of who goes will still be.

The Town are on the up with a highly, highly rated manager who cut his teeth with the best. There will be agents, players and managers on the phone to Wellens hourly touting themselves, their agency players and in the case of managers further up the leagues fringe players who need game time to develop. Three routes to market for Wellens to choose from. Again as was mentioned this morning more trialists than the Old Bailey.

Check out their forum there's lots about us on there calling us a small Mickey Mouse club, jealous of their history and Swindon is a dump etc and even one poster on there saying he lives in Swindon which could be the one who post on here

I suppose it will depend on if the fixture compilers, go by their usual rules or observe that no away fans might be permitted.  If the usual method then yes quite likely.... we haven't played Sundrland in the 21st cent, but 3 times in the 90's they were the opening home game, twice the season's opener.  The compilers like to open with something involving distance, to try and avoid any crowd problems.

It would be good to get them with a crowd in mind.  I wonder if they'll still be owned by Oxford fans?

Really? Thanks but I have better things to do on a Sunday than spend time on a fans forum.

Fishing. Fishing. Fishing. I knew someone would take the bait. Didn’t expect it to be you though.

Seriously now. I do have better things to do. We have guests this afternoon for lunch. Trouble is due to the changeable weather shall it be BBQ with marinated beef and chicken kebabs accompanied by a simple green Greek salad or play safe and have homemade Lasagne with the Greek salad 🤔🤔 later folks enjoy your Sunday.
