Completely agree.
A few years ago I’d be concerned us signing strikers on the wrong side of 30 but the style Wellens plays means that the striker doesn’t need to work too hard, just be a fox in the box and put the ball in the back of the net, the players behind will feed you enough.
He actually said once that he didn't want Doyle to work hard. He just wanted him sniffing around the box, inuendo very much intended. |

Realistically we've probably all but signed some players already, this summer is unique in that it started in March so Wellens has had 4 months of primarily focusing on lining up players. With the Bosman you can talk to players who will be free agents in the summer from January so I'm sure that he has been doing exactly that, probably the reason that seemingly he didn't attempt to go all in to sign Yates. Pre-season training next week will reveal a lot with who's agreed new contracts and I'm sure it will also coincide with some new signings being announced.

According to Nixon, Blackpool are now in for Grant aswell. Sounds like they also enquired about Fryers although we are still hopeful of keeping him.

I would say 90%, he wants to come back, but then I was 90% certain about Yates too. Money talks, they could just be going after him to wind up Wellens after accusing us of tapping up Yates, to try and stir up trouble. Just a thought. |

Contracts been on the table for a long time.... he's watching his team mates leave, most of them to the same club... I wouldn't be sure. I think he's gone. Happy to be wrong of course |

Who knows. Wellens back next week and the players in training later in the week and things should be come clearer. Basing my confidence on Grants twitter feed only. Where he posted a pic of him and Isgrove, pretty sure they are both signing. |

Grant sent a fan a DM on Twitter basically don’t listen to Rumour accounts as they know nothing so I think we can dispel that one. Nixon gets some stuff right but he’s actually wrong a lot, he doesn’t like when this gets pointed out and blocks people, he’s just another rumour account but with some contacts.
Oh and Fryers is under contract still is he not and we are looking at extending it, so in that case he’s clearly talking nonsense.
