ATM we have Benda, DJ, Yates and REG - so 1 slot left (taking it for granted we don’t want a ‘May’ type 6th slot).

If we were going to get Janneh last week how were we going to get the experienced striker Wellens says we’re getting.

,
It has to be a perm - ergo, Doyle.

Yet, Wellens said the loan would be an experienced striker.

Maybe he's just playing with us.

Again.

But as Janneh was on the verge of joining us on loan - as reported - that would have taken up the last loan slot.

Does say, again, in the Yabber that we haven’t ruled out Doyle on a perm.

So, for clarity, if we signed Doyle on a permanent contract Ie, he is our player 100% could we also have Grigg on loan till the EOS?

For argument’s sake, yes. Although 1 of Doyle, Grigg and Yates not being picked to play seems remote.

Also, Donaldson has returned to full training with Bradford. Once he’s up and running and ready for the 1st XI Bowyer will be more inclined to let Doyle go. Understandably, like every other manager in transfer windows, he’s playing it safe in case of injuries.

We might have another 2 weeks of this speculation.

BOO thinks it’s happening. A Winky wanky rumour site is good enough for me!

I saw that. But I don't know at times if he is dropping hints or just saying what he hopes will happen.

Thanks! I don't think any of those would be the 5th (or 6th in this case) beatle. So 1 more loaner unless we convert someone to perm, which is unlikely IMO.

Don’t any new signings need to be registered by midday the day before they can play or 24 hrs or some reg.

On loan player numbers, we can have more than 5 at any time (I couldn’t find reference to a limit in the EFL rules) except that a maximum of 4 may come from one club.
The point about 5 loan players is that only 5 are allowed in any matchday squad - hence the reason May’s appearances were limited, because the other 5 were regular starters when fit and available.

I still think we have two loan spots to fill, Doyle and May. Making most of this speculation a bit redundant

I think other reasons were also in play as to why May didn't get more game time.
