They tend to go back but I imagine the loan deal remains.

Usually back to parent club for treatment. Dj is 6 weeks iirc. Ballards maybe cancelled though. I guess depends on what the loan agreement was.

In the spirit of 80% bollocks - i.e. this is based on fuck all - Doyle reminds me a bit of Paul Benson, lower league striker who knows how to be in the right place at the right time.

Both have an approx 1 in 3 scoring ratio across their careers (if there are any stattos out there please don't correct me to decimal points, it is approx), so fingers crossed...

On the whole - optimistic about this signing.  When Yates is back (and if we have appealed hopefully sooner than later) could be an interesting partnership up front.

Ballard has returned and loan cancelled, pretty sure anyway. Now we’re looking for a replacement, probably loan again.

Agree, in fact I’ll go all happy clapper on this.

It’s realistically as good a signing as you can hope at league 2 level. Steady scorer over whole career, 31 which is a good age and no serious injury record to speak of.

Then again the shadow of Tony Thorpe still lurks in my mind

The Doyle looks like he can score all different types of goals; head, feet, poaching, long range, dinks over the keeper, plus comfortable running at defenders with the ball. I think it'll prove to be a great signing, and I think Wellens is the man to get the best out of him.

The STFCBoo guy on twitter seemed to be suggesting earlier that we could be signing Devitt as well. Although I might just be reading in-between lines that are not there.

That's the problem with these subtle hints. Sometimes you don't know if they are even hints at all.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bennett or Devitt still come in and probably a young forward as back up to Yates and Doyle.

Nahh you're just getting your doilies and your duvets mixed up  Wink Which if we're using subtle hints...leads us to Hy(i)lton.

That assist he made for Ben House to knock down for the winner was worldly. I forget which game it was but somebody, somewhere, has the highlight on video?

If only he could do it more often.
