So, if we missed out on Maynard cos Mansfield offered £1k a week more than us, I’d presume Hylton is on more than Maynard.
Tbf, £1k more than we can afford must still be a very decent wage for L2 - enough for Bennett at least.
We’ve upped the quality throughout all positions - except, atm, striker. If we end up with Robinson that’ll be a little disappointing after all the, unsubstantiated, hoo-ha.

Added to that, I don’t think budget decisions are binary yes/no. There’ll be a hard limit, of course, but nothing to suggest our offer for Maynard hit that |

Last season when Bennett left the gas to join us on loan he was said to be rubbish, puts in no effort, is inconsitant and not wanted by almost all the Rovers fans.
Today on their forum they are saying he will be a massive loss, their only creative player etc etc.
I would like Bennett to sign, he showed a fair bit of talent for us after a poor start to his Town career, scored some great goals and I think could well get 15 goals a season playing in the hole behind a decent striker for us.
Get him, Carroll and another good striker and I think we could challenge this coming season.

He has played 2 full games and one half game in their 3 pre season games so far. Brentford fans seem to be enjoying his performances too, lost a fair bit of weight over the summer and several think he could be close to the first team. |
