Had to do a bit of digging to unravel your cryptic post. So to help others. A Sun/Mirror sports journo has tweeted that the mighty STFC are after Doyle from Bradford.

The proven goal scorer many see as essential for us to challenge...

Would be a good signing. Can't imagine Bradford will want to let him go now they're in League 2 mind.

Eoin Doyle is the type of proven scorer that we need, hes not a target man but certainly knows where the net is.

Only signed a 2 year deal at Bradford the beginning of last season after a £150k transfer from Preston, so he won't be a free unless he has a relegation release clause in his contract or Bradford need to trim the wage bill.

Other than Jewell’s obvious links to Bradford, why would Doyle want to skip across from one club in L2 to another club in L2. Surely it cannot be money?

1 in 3 man, so that would be realistic... had a very good spell at Chesterfield a few years back... down to 1 in 4 for Bradford last season but in Div 3.

Bagged 11 in 12 for Wellens in League 1 for Oldham...may be a reason he'd be interested in coming here.

Yes... part of the squad that went down at Oldham, so back to back relegations on his CV.

Always one to see the positives, eh Reg?

10 in 11 in a relegated side suggests he has something about him.

I've been on the phone to ED's Dad, he mentioned that Jewell engineered the move after Wellen's mentioned his name in an annual 'PTTCNM' (Potential Transfer Target & Contract Negotiation Meeting), along with Noel Hunt, who was best man for Doyle. They also played together at Portsmouth two years ago; where they were promoted as champions.

All joking aside, the core of the links between the players/manager/etc is true. Jewell - Braford link, Wellens - Previously managed him, Hunt - Played with him.

Quite a few 'jobs for the boys' signs in this appointment. If it happens - his Dad is 90% certain it'll happen  Pint

As I said Doyle is a 1 in 3 striker at his best, but is probably a goalhanger type... hence the relegations as he might not do the hold up play and defensive set piece stuff so well.

However if you go for my wish of having a few bodies to call on up front, and then use them wisely , by rotation and subbing, they can be useful.

Certainly Doyle, is at least a realistic rumour.
