I thought you wanted numbers in defence?  Hmmm

My advocacy of numbers up front was based on the assumption that Knoyle and Conroy would stay, hence at the back we'd have a RB,  2CH's, with Romanski as some cover, but still needing a LB.  Once it became apparent this was unlikely it shifts the priority.  As things stand we have Broadbent and Romanski.... so not so much numbers more any players.

Would be nice if STFC could confirm the situation with Hunt as would have thought he could contribute in the box

As Soufend are one of the clubs on the brink financially - wonder if we could get Theo and Cox?
Would be one hell of a pairing in this league and might put a few bums on seats - Cox scored 17 in 51 last year in a struggling Div3 team.

Probably need a big lump too for options.

Absolutely loved Coxy when he was here, but think he's very much in winding down mode now

Surprised he scored that many - he was poor when I watched him at Blackpool, seemed off the pace

Cox also won all 4 of Soufend player of the year awards - Players/fans/young fans/supporters trust.
May be on the way down but still a more than decent lower league player

It's about having a flexible squad. We're obviously going to have more strikers than Theo (and Kaiyne, who I like down the middle). We're obviously going to sometimes play with 1, sometimes 2.
I too think Woolery is better down the middle, his crossing is poor and doesn't play the channels as well as he should do.

A couple of times this season just gone he has broke through the middle with so much pace the defenders can't cope with him and he gets into great positions but often his final shot is weak, but he has shown he has it "in his locker" to score 1 on 1's and I think thats how he should be utilised for best effect.

When hes out wide he is often totally innefective and his crossing is at times is terrible so cause mayhem with his speed and dribbling, defences often looked scared shitless of him, a little more work on finishing and he could do really well. 12 to 15 goals a season if we play to his strengths.

Hi all, new on here but regular reader!

Shaping up to be a very interesting summer of recruitment. Alot of talk from Wellens about bringing quality in and having 'his own players', so pressure is on now. Looking unlikely Knoyle or Conroy will sign I guess, but not majorly disheartened by that. If we can get both Devitt and Yates in that would be a good start, but alot of work to do to get a competitive squad together to compete after last years damp squib. Agree re:Woolery better down the middle, but still not convinced hes the answer for goal return. Be interesting to see first few signings, will show what intent we have this year.

Ever the optimist! I like Wellens honesty, must be confident on getting what he wants so I'll keep faith. Up the reds.

I guess it’ll be in relation to Devitt and the chap from Rotherham United.

Devitt’s almost certainly going to Hull.

Source?

Bit of a mad move, didnt they release him previously? Certainly not good enough for the Championship

Well I’ve kind of put 2 and 2 together a bit from twitter. The Hull City News site tweeted a load of videos of Devitt’s long range strikes from last season and he retweeted.
