They also loved Linganzi and he was mostly a pudding.

Pompey didn't make a 2 minute video saying goodbye to Linganzi

Kyle is a tidy player, no more than that, I'm not sure I can think of too many assists this season.... I'd say he can improve though.

But tidy is better than most we have and most we chase, especially if we listen to you.

He definitely can improve, on delivery particularly, but if he does, he's more than capable at L1 level.

It's the delivery bit that is crucial offensively and stopping crosses coming in defensively... seems easy enough to sort in theory, but clearly isn't.  The best RB around in England atm is probably the Liverpool kid T A-A, he seems just to be a natural, whereas his rival for an England shirt Trippier, looks like he's had to work at it.

Broadbent confirmed.

An interesting signing.... definitely the sort of thing needed, and probably means we're not signing Nelson on a perm.

The last Town player in my time who'd seen active service, at least that I can think of was Maurice Owen, who fought in the jungles of Burma.  He did alright.

It's Jan 18th and we've made 5 signings already.

How many more are we gunna make still another loan spot to fill.

Still think we need a winger and a Striker but the team certainly looking more balanced. If only we'd done this in June/July.

If the season started again, the team we have now would probably make the play offs.

I think the 7 point gap is to big to pull back. Especially with Tranmere, FGR, MK Franchise, newport, (in form) Grimsby and Colchester then (flying) Carlisle coming up.

Only real banker between now and mid march is bloody Crawley.

Still bodes well for next season if we can keep the side together in the summer.

The Rovers manager said the Broadbent deal has been in the works for weeks so I wouldn't rule Nelson out just yet.

However, we get this every window, people forget the one out one in operation.... so we've lost 5, Romanski, well sort of, if someone will have him, Robertson, Alzate, Bayo, Nelson.  The new arrivals, we don't know too much about, so best to wait and see, but we know it's never easy bedding in half a side at short notice.

You're right though about the PO's being beyond us, therefore we need to be building for 19/20 and with the acquisition of 3 who seemingly, and 1 Broadbent, who will defo be here next season, that looks to be the thinking.

Talking of lining up people for next season, I do wonder if Shirtliff is Taylors replacement on the coaching staff.

Lifter is more McDonald's replacement.   I'm guessing that Matty will probably retire in the summer and take up a coaching post at a Prem or top end Championship club, probabaly at academy or U 21 level.

So the playoffs are beyond us as we're 7 points behind, yet when we were 10 points off the relegation zone we needed to be worried. Is that right?

TBF Nelson has been up in the air for weeks so that cuts both ways, might just means they started on a backup as soon as it became clear Millwall were playing silly buggers
