Doughty is not even close to being Championship standard. Would be amazed if Hull came in for him, even Sunderland who are looking for promotion.

lo.l I know what you mean but he does if he wants to continue to play football at as high a level possible. Careers wise, of course no. However that's his future security sorted. I'm sure he'd prefer the relatively easy career of Pro Football than a more stressful one for as long as is possible.

That is of course your opinion. I'm sure if you asked MD that, he would differ from yourself. I did say L1/ LOW Championship. However he is only just 26 so I'm sure he has personal targets. You don't go from playing in the Prem at 22, to suddenly being only good enough for L2 (remember he dropped down with L1 offers). Somewhere like Portsmouth could be a good fit and they are a team on the up seemingly. Also, even though their football is dross, we must err caution at Lincoln. If they get promotion he could head to them seasons end. May sound a strange one but I think his father lived in Lincolnshire. so something may tug at the heartstrings there? That's pure speculation but, I would Doughty's current ambition seems higher than that of his club. Can we match it? Do others in the squad match his ambition?

Time to pull fingers out of arses, for some I guess.

Can only imagine he has a specific mix of attributes that will help the team that our current 9 CMs don't have, and should also mean we never see Taylor play CM again. Would guess it's now 2 of Doughty, Dunne, McCourt and Rose but does also give us the option of playing a narrow diamond, or a more traditional 4231.

On paper a good signing.
another option might be for an innovative 0-10-0 line up?

He struggled last season in league 1.

You're not listening/reading properly/misinterpreting. I'm not saying he is either or. I'm saying Doughty, in his own ambition would likely feel he still has something to prove.

Struggled...gibberish. I'm pretty sure he played most of the season for Peterborough, who finished 9th in L1 and made the 4th Rnd of the FA Cup...maybe not setting L1 alight but struggled? No that aint it.

Quite possible though, that Steve Evans is a bit of a cunt and the fact Doughty wasn't signed by the slug?

Fed up chasing Nelson, I presume.

Loan or Perm?

Decent comment from the gasboard

Quote
MotM after a long absence v Northampton and also scored. He can also actually pass the ball out of defence rather just hoof it, although he needs game time somewhere for the rest of the season.

Him and Nelson together would be no messing, hard bastard CB pairing. I like that he can go up and get a goal or two. Interesting.

For a player that Millwall don’t want, they are doing a crap job of getting rid of him.

Why not? Genuinely.

I do. Sid and Tom on perm. Send the Woolf back. He's been ok but there is an element of hand holding still needed with Woolf. We can't really accommodate that, as RW has implied, he wants "men" or at the very least hard bastards that won't be bullied. Look at the signings (even if some are young) so far, they are all quite well developed, strength wise or experienced. House, Koiki, Rose. Add in the possibility of Sid & Tom, a half decent forward (is Duffus still on the table?) and we're about there.

Indeed and I think they've signed another defender also. Looking at what a chunk of Millwall fans seem to say about Neil Harris, is that his recruitment strategy seems pretty poor.
