Tansmedia?

Adver journo.

Richie Wellens is close to signing an 'experienced' player. Meeting taking place today. Position not specified. But if signed will 'bring a lot to the club' and will play next season too. #STFC.

The comment from Wellens reads to me like....we have made an offer now stop fannying around and let him sign, we aren't going to chase you but you know he wants to come, we want him and you no longer want him so pull your finger out for the sake of the player.

Was just about to say similar. If Millwall do care about Sid, a lad who's been there since he was 8 (yes I know I've mentioned it) then they'll allow it to go through.

In ref to Rich and the "deal is dead", pretty sure there was similar goings on when we signed Austin? Fitton said "the deal is dead" or to that affect because understandably Poole were trying to get a bit more for him.

It's been a while since we've done fish puns.

Best I get it started and not leave it to salmon else.

Read my long above post... we went 3 above them after Newport.

Ah Newport, a team in the top ten when we beat them as we're Stevenage

Carlisle have won 5 on the spin and are now 5th. If we had beat them on Wellens' first day we'd have gone above them I think? Goes to show...

Lets see what happens following a change of manager.

No nelson for saturday. Unable to do a deal with Millwall. Beginning to look elsewhere

Shame could have done with his type of rough and tumble

It's about now that the league takes the shape that it will more or less end in, so gives a more accurate measure of relative merit.  For example look at last season's table after 27 games and then the final table. You'll find 14 sides either stayed in the same place or advanced or dropped a place. 6 teams either gained or dropped 2 places and 3 teams managed to advance or drop 3 places. The one outlier being Crewe who managed to drop 5 places.  Morecambe were the strongest finishers, climbing 3 places while FGR's 2 climbed was enough to keep them up.
