Would seem strange that if his contract isn't being renewed, why not just let him go now? release him and let us pick up his wages or sell him for a nominal fee.
Unless they think there is more money to be made by a tribunal in Summer.

Maybe we prefer the loan in case anything happens for the rest of the season, though I agree it doesn't make much sense. Takes up one of the loan spots, but maybe power would rather just pay the wages for the rest of the season rather than use some of the available money on an up front fee.

No its some random on the internet? I deserved that The stance is still there though and that's the deal that seems likely. Whether Millwall are trying to get a bit of money for him? It seems unlikely as Harris has said "there is every chance that Sid will go back on loan to Swindon, once we've assed his knee" (so that at least confirms they are doing their C&M on Sid). To me it just says, Power is happy to pay Sids wages until the end of the season. You know, cos Power is a "fackkin Millwall boy fru n fru, arn't ah, Andrew. You know that!" Also, Trashbat. Millwall wouldn't get a fee in the Summer for Sid because he'd be OOC and unattached. He'd be able to join whoever he likes. Likely being Swindon as it's where he'll finish his season at.

Highly rated by Burnley can play left back or centre back, Wimbledon, Charlton Athletic, Southend United, Grimsby and Exeter City also after him. Ex Crystal Palace youngster may prefer a move back to London where he was born. Big solidly built and 6 foot 1 has a lot of pace and power for his age (19). Another one well worth a punt, scored 2 goals in 3 U23 matches for Burnley so far this season and has been on the bench for Burnley a couple of times this season. Nothing to lose getting him on loan, has to be a better defender than Iandolo and Taylor.

Would seem ideal to slot in next to Sid, if Woolf is likely to not come back.

He would only be a free if Millwall decided to not offer him a contract of similar value to his current contract, if they offered a renewal to him and he refused then we would have to pay a fee as hes still under 24.

Sorry I should have elaborated on that, I was meaning if Millwall were being dastardly buggers and decided to string us along till summer and then offer him a new contract.

The word is, he is not getting a renewal and will be released at end of season. If he isn't offered a deal/renewal can't see Millwall having much of a case. I think it's rule 3 (point something) but they have to have offered him a deal between now and seasons end. In any case, we all know any "fee" would be negligible/nominal seeing as we'll have paid his wages in full (goes down as part of "fees" I believe, in tribunal terms) for a season. Also he's at the upper limit of 23 so in development terms the only thing Millwall have going for them is that he's been on the books since he was 8. http://fullcontactlaw.co.uk/2016/11/compensation-players-24-mystery/ There are some great "tribunal profiles" on this link. Includes a few ex and current Town players

I get your angle mate. They could do but I think the "not renewing his contract" seems to have been on the cards for a while. Be some foresight from Millwall to guess Sid would do well here, let us extend his loan and string us along when we go to sign him up. Honestly think it all boils down to triviality in this case. It's pretty clear where the player wants to be and where Millwall think his future lies. We being the former and not them the latter.
