Brown and Laing met I am led to believe - why it didn’t progress, I am not sure - perhaps Richards’ return being ahead of schedule?

Personally think we need another in regardless of Richards.

But on that front, what is Woolery's issue and how long is he out for? I don't think he's the solution, but his pace is useful and at least its something different if budget is really at full stretch.

By ‘led to believe’ he means he seen Ben Wills tweet.
I’m not sure who that is....

I've heard he's still in a leg brace, and back late October at best.

I don't think we should see him as the cavalry coming over the hill to rescue our season. Don't forget the pre-season word ws that we were looking to off load a la Norris and Mullin presumably as a means of budget reduction.

I don't. I just think if we end up not getting a striker in/with injuries he's handy to have available

Well yes.... if he makes it back by October that still leaves 6 or so months of the season and quite a lot of games...

Do we have to have the discussion explaining that interest in a particular player does not exclude us from signing others, again?

I fear so.  This does seem to be an area that Brown wants to strengthen as Lang and A.Eisa are both left sided wingers/forwards.

Even though what Flash says is right, it is confusing that Brown has said we are close to the budget maximum yet is still looking to spend some of it on positions that aren’t as crucial as others.

He's not got a bad goal scoring record, especially for a winger. Brown might see him as being worth a few goals, which we need. He might also be able to play up front in a front 3, which we play.

Indeed. Negotiating position or not...that's what he said. So that's what people will think.

Young, unproven,  Brown's comments could have meant if we brought a proven and expensive striker in.

Players brought in now will presumably be loans, so we may be able to cut some favourable deals...thereby stretching the budget.

Trouble is because we're a middling Div 4 side, then we're no longer able to attract the calibre of player of a few years back, so it's Sid Nelsons rather than Jack Stephens.

Sid got some good experience last year of Div 4, with Yeovil who stayed up by 2 points and Chesterfield who went to the Conference... you could see why on Tuesday, that unfortunately that is about his level.
