He used to date someone who I went to school with, she almost made it into girls aloud on the pop stars the rivals show, and then was part of a girl group called clea. Bit of trivia for you

Hopefully we get Linganzi and Elsnik back soon too... We have a tough run of games in February including Lincoln, Mansfield, Wycombe and Accy Stanley. 6 games in total - could make or break the season really. A few more bodies would be more than welcomed.

This transfer window has been a big punch to the gut to the “we always sign players at last moment” and “Power never puts his hand in his pocket” brigades

I think every window under Power has shown the latter to be false. People tend to have selective memories, though. Some will be spewing the same old mantra again before long.

True. But I bet he hates spending money on players he knows will have no future value!

Still, home gates with Rovers, Pox, Sunderland, Brum etc should ease the wallet pain if all goes well.

Its nonsense. You can criticise him for a lot but he's bought a fair few players since he's been here.

What the windows show is that we more or less operate a one in one out policy, nothing wrong with that as we don't want to be saddled with debt.

A lot said the same last year... when TT got in a bunch of loans and some kids, failing to note that we also shipped out a few. Further having 7 loans when you can only use 5 wasn't exactly strengthening.

No, if you take the undisclosed figures at face value, the incomings from the likes of Luongo, Ajose, Byrne and Gladwin and  Louis, outweigh the outgoings.

the last minute buys has largely been true.

this season he's done everything right, other than preseason prep. even if he ends up having appointed the wrong manager.

Well, that will be because barring about two or three seasons we have made a sustained loss financially every year since 1990 (probably before then).  Something has to cover the costs and Power made it pretty clear our approach to recruitment did that.  Right now, we seem to have flipped models, the long term worry is how will Power be funding the losses this year and next?  Maybe he is banking on the Flint transfer happening within the next 6/7 months.

This is where a cup run comes in handy. Newport and Yeovil, will potentially be able to set themselves up for next season, if they can get a draw in their cup games.

Notts, perhaps less so, but they have more of a realistic chance of progress and so getting their payday next round. Mansfield similarly have a chance tonight to set themselves up, to pay for Evans' summer spending

Lincoln turned themselves into a bigger budget and crowd club than us on the back of last season's cup exploits and I fully expect them to take an auto slot.  Mansfield started out as favourites in Div 4 and have steadily worked their way up, I can see them in the autos with Lincoln and Luton, with perhaps Notts missing out

Ajose returns to Charlton to be loaned to a L2 club.

Surely, not again!

We don't need more strikers. Unless some are set to depart...
