what is wrong with loans? Ince was a loan and was by far our best player last season! Vigs and Fodderingham were loans and got made into full timers Luongo, Ajose, Obika and Byrne were loans and became full timers. We also had pritchard and Mason on loan, 1 season later Mason was in the England team, playing in the prem league and then got sold for £12m (if I remember rightly). Loans aren't the problem, it's getting the right players with the right attitude, a loan allows us to get players we might normally be able to afford (Mason for example) and if they prove themselves can become a full timer. Almost every team in L1 and L2 will have 3+ loans, each team are allowed 5 in their matchday ream so they will utilise them as much as possible but I do slightly agree with you that we can't rely on them (like we did in January, esp with lazy players like Gladwin). Loan players generally are better than we already have in the team, bring something new and have something to prove (either to their parent club or trying to earn a contract at another). |

Loan players are, frankly, a necessity of lower league football. As long as we don't have seven of them within a squad thin of permanent options.

We will certainly not be the only team in L1 and L2 with a full compliment of loans each game I am sure, in fact it will be a rare team that doesn't have at least 3 or 4.
If the loan player/s fit in then I have no problem with them, as long as their attitude is right.
