Hate him as an opposition but would welcome him as a player.
I think he will probably find a club in the Championship though.

Would also be interesting to see how Nile Ranger haters would receive Joey Barton...

Seeing he is fluent in French it would help if we brought in from across the water.

To be fair, he's done quite a few dickish things, but he's not quite up there with Nile Ranger.

Why did he leave Burnley, di he leave then or did they let him go as he was Player of the season in the Championship and I though he could still do a job in the premiership, although just looked and he is 34, when did that fucking happen!

I don't know but he has been training with Burnley again since his release from rangers and Dyche says he would be welcomed back...so we can draw a line under that rumour I think.

Zamora has retired, so we can nip that one in the bud. (Which probably means he'll sign on Jan 1st)

Interesting to read today, about a new FL initiative, EFL Futures. Over the next 3 seasons, Pow clubs can get a wodge of cash, based on the number of appearances by England qualified U 21 players. This probably makes it even more likely that we'll be fielding a team of kids in whichever Div we're in next season.

All the clubs get a massive fee for the season from the EFL to develop the young players a whopping sum of 12K each. The money spread about in football is so lopsided when you get average players in the PL on 400k per week its a fucking joke.

It doesn't. The total amount is £2.25m over 3 seasons - that's just over £10k per club per season. That's not going to make much difference even to our budget. This is a paltry PR effort so the League can claim to be investing in youth, not an initiative that's going to influence anyone's transfer decisions

Or make much difference to the effectiveness of the England senior team.

10k per team?
Does that help cover the fines for clubs that played young English players in the boycott cup?
