Way out of out of our wage bracket unfortunately - I think a few are going to be disappointed this summer if they expect a change in our recruitment policy.

You may be right, but I'm not 100% convinced. Ajose's contract at Leeds was probably out of our wage bracket, but Power still managed to get him. I suspect there's all sorts of things you can put in a contract to make up for a not so good basic salary.

Well at least we haven't got the PO's to worry about whilst everyone else gets players signed as they know what league they'll be in.

I'm with leftside, ajose didn't come for 50p and a bag of chips, hence why he's scored 20 odd, when plodders in our supposed budget range have scored 8 or 9.

No need to apologise. You and Chang may well be right regarding Thomas. I'm just not convinced that half-decent players struggling to get into second division first teams are necessarily beyond Town's means. Getting Ajose from Leeds while still under contract seems a bit more of a challenge than attracting an out of contract striker who has spent much of the season on loan in the third division.

I can't comment on his all-round play, but Thomas's goal scoring record is hit and miss.
That, and he's 29, so there's little to no sale value to take into account. He may not be able to command as high a wage as some think.

Leeds are probably still playing Seth Johnson some wages, so it's not unrealistic they are still paying Ajose!!!

He was released and they came to a mutual agreement so probably had a lump sum paid to him to sweeten his release, and from his point of view he was going to a team who was going to give him first team football and allow him to get his career back on track

According to Franchise we are in a 3 way chase for George Moncur - along with MK and Barnsley.

We'll come fourth in that race.

Meh, I'm not sure how much of a pull being born in Swindon could be. Probably little. I knew George when he was a kid, he was odd. Cracking footballer though!

Power did day he was one high up the radar, whether we would get him or not was debatable. If it's right i'd say the dongers would be pole (I don't do puns)
