I'd put him in the 400-600k bracket based on nothing whatsoever.

What we need is competition for his signature....he's 2 years left on contract, so a fee must be involved, as long as more than 1 club is prepared to substantially up his wages, we can take the best offer.

A more useful comparison with NA, might be ALF (Adam le Fondre). Early years with Stockport and Rochdale, hit it off at Rotherham, so Reading apid £300K for him.

Goal hangers are not the flavour of the month, with many managers. It's more about wages, if as seems to be expected a club turns NJ's head, and is prepared to pay about 300K he'll be gone.

Anyone know this man?

Is he any better than the strikers presently at clubs in the Championship?

If he goes, I can see him going to a club like Sheff Utd.

We have 2 assumptions, though. Power wants to cash in and Ajose actually wants to go.

And the assumption that the richer clubs can literally afford to take a gamble on whether he makes the step up or not.

... and the evidence suggests he cannot make the step up.

I can see Power holding out for 750k-1Mil. I'm not trying to say I think he's worth that much, because I don't, but I do think that his goals next season are likely to be worth more to us than a club is willing to offer in monetary value. That, and he has 2 years left on his contract. Somebody mentioned 300k? We sold Flint for about that much, and still Power was haggling.

The 750k-1Mil could well be very different if we are having this same discussion this time next season when he has 1 year left though. Oh, and there's always the chance that Ajose might kick-off about wanting to go, which would change things a tad.

Oh of course. But I still think there are clubs who would take the gamble. Times change, players change. Some "click" at some clubs and just don't at others. I just can't see a goal scoring record like his going ignored.

We paid Alfreton 150K for Flint....and then some on a sell on, so perhaps approx £100K ish profit. Of course there may have been some weird deal to get NA from Leeds to take into account, but we'll never know.

I just hope we've a sell on for Flint....if Leicester win the Prem, big old skool donkey centre halves like Wes Morgan and Robert Huth will be all the rage....Flint could be worth a small fortune.

Not convinced we have, LP was very vague when asked, saying "i did the deal, we must have", "yeah I'm sure we have", "i'll check"....

Agreed. Be surprised & disappointed if he goes for anything less than a million.

Not a hope. If he does will be nearer batch's estimate, or a low fee + young players depending on suitor(s)

It certainly won't be anything close to £1million up front, not with Nicky's record above middling L1 sides. Power bargains well but can't see him clawing in more than 500k plus add-ons. It'll be then billed as max total possible value as/if/when he leaves. But to reach top end of that price bracket will depend on appearances/goals.
