and that doesn't even consider how much they wanted. For all we know it might have been 15-20k per week which was prob what he was getting at Boro.

That was my first thought, with Coventry in for him maybe it priced us out if we had to match it.

Opinions and arseholes and all that, but I thought he never looked anything more than a bog standard L1 trundler in midfield last season, and he was an utter cunt at Crewe last season, which didn't help my judgement of him.
Out of interest how often did you watch us? The majority of the time I saw him play he was a 7 or 8 out of 10 & looked equally at home at CB or DM. Fits the Power ethos perfectly in terms of how he plays the game & the potential resale value. Wouldn't have been bothered had he gone to a Champ/ship club but to be beaten by a L1 rival is frustrating.

Last season about 15 live and whatever was on tv, about 20 games. Don't get me wrong he wasn't terrible, but I don't think I ever stood up when he had the ball. (not that I can much after a few pre match beers anyway) He was better at CB, but as rmour has it could we guarantee he played? Particularly if turnbull has the same clause.

Don't think he's ever gonna be the type of player to get you on the edge of your seat 2bh. Does the simple things very well & was capable of starting moves off from the back. I was hoping we'd get him on loan till the season's end with the hope of making it a perm in the summer. Hope he has a disaster at Cov 2bh so we've got a chance of getting him back!!

Oh yeah, he mentioned Hoare and claimed he talked it over (like Stephens) and they didn't go further. But I also read we bid, and that Hull had had a 250K bid turned down previously. Hard to separate fact from fiction really.

Also Joe Lumley the keeper - Power had no idea where that came from. Yet somebody who would know ( and that isn't a Tans ) says Ty Belford's name was circulated on the "available for loan" list  three weeks ago. Which is a little odd in some ways, though he clearly needs games.

I got the impression that Belford was not aware of this

On Pino:

Quote
the 19-year-old has joined Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side on a six-month contract, with the Spanish club holding the option to retain the player once he has completed his stay at Loftus Road.

So it's a loan then? If so then why not just say so? If not then what is it?

The whole thing seems odd (including his stay here) - did he need to be in the country for so long until QPR could sign him?

And they only get to keep him if he does badly?  Hmmm

That has 3rd party ownership written all over it. Glad we steered clear.

I'm wondering if it's the reason why we stayed clear.

Not so sure, third party ownership would have provided a very good opportunity for Power to move around all the money he is apparently making from the club?
