With Leeds still firmly in that market it seems they are preparing to take on another centre-back if the right deal can be put in place. The club have now set their sights on Shrewsbury youngster Connor Goldson.

22-year-old Goldson is reportedly the next Leeds target after a deal for Liam Moore of Leicester City never materialised. Goldson is very highly rated but would probably be coming is as a back-up initially with the hope of breaking into the first-team.

Reports are suggesting Leeds have had an £800k bid turned down for Goldson.

Would likely be a challenging one to pull off given Leeds interest. Still, seems to be exactly the sort of player we should be trying to get. If it comes off then the Powers that be should be given a lot of credit. (it will not happen of course)

Power can spot a player but like Sutton says we won't pay anyhwhere near that amount, not even half IMO, Shrews board have a bad relationship with us after us offering £20k for Collins and going to the tribunal, they won't accept a lower offer with sell ons for certain.

According to the Shrews forum they say that Lids enquired but made no bid.

Swindon have joined the race, BBC Wiltshire are reporting they've made a bid. They've made some serious cash this summer from player sales but I'd be surprised if they spent near to a million that I hope would be needed.


If Goldson goes for a million the world will have gone mad.


I can't see the slightest advantage to Connor's career in signing for that lot!


Swindon would be no more than a sideways move if I was Conor I would be wanting to sign for a side in a higher league that has ambition to match his!
