Think this is fair enough...without ever being quite convincing Rodgers, looked to have something there.  Now is his chance to kick on and show it....means it keeps dad happy also.

Problem is he was the butt of some people's frustrations last season and I can see him being the first candidate for the boo boys!!  Here's hoping he has a great start to the season and keeps them quiet!

Is it too much to hope that these will be the sort who won't bother this coming season?  It's entirely possible to look not so great early in a career and then come good....look at Alan Mac, who seems to be on the staff now.

I quite liked Rodgers, his problem was he doesn't have the same ability as Kasim & Luongo so he was never gonna stand out but he's got ability and hopefully he can improve.

Rodgers isn't good enough for the first team if we hope to challenge again. Good to have as back up in the squad for sure though.

He's easily capable, technically. Not sure if he's up to the hustle and bustle. we desperately need a midfield enforcer for this season.

Maybe playing without being in the shadow of the regular first teamers (Louis, Yasser, Mass) will give him the opportunity and freedom to show us he is the real deal. I hope our fans give him the chance.

Wasn't Alan Mac treated as a right back under Lou and the transformed into the attacking midfield maestro in the fluid passing game introduced by Ossie Badeales ?

a statement of opinion based on seeing him play though.

fwiw I think I'd agree based in what I've seen, but he probably needs a good run in the team for proper judgement.

and we definitely needed a midfield thug last season.

He can be a good player for us as long as he has the right players alongside him.

He's technically very gifted, but has no height, pace or power. The question is whether those technical gifts alone are sufficient to justify a place in the team.
