That Agombar selection still stinks.
I remain hopeful that I'm over thinking it.

Personally, that Cooper doesn't always pick the team. Now it may be just this once, or not, but its not acceptable and a completely out of order thing to do less than a week before the playoffs. That, or I've made 2+2=5, again.

With the Agombar thing, the most likely scenario is that he had a clause in his contract that said he had to play at least one game. This Cooper doesn't pick the team thing has no substance, and even if it did would you actually care if we were promoted?

I don't agree with playing agombar but other than that I couldn't give a flying one who picks the team.

I was thinking something similar. What type of person is going to be okay being told who to play? It doesn't sit well with me, and it's exactly the type of thing that happens to us when things are going well...

Fielding a clearly unfit player whose dad was an associate of the previous regime (himself contributing to the death of another club) could suggest that we are still not fully rid of said people. We didn't know the guy was on a 2-year contract until we saw the Retained List last year. A disillusioned Kevin MacDonald leaves weeks after Harry Agombar, a player who is largely considered to have not *earned* his place at this football club, mysteriously arrives with little information released. I'm not saying that Harry is responsible but being told you've got to accept such transfers could easily make a respected coach walk. Like I said, I hope I'm reading way too much into it.

Whoever has been picking the team this season, it's worked pretty well so what's the problem?

I assume you think this because Jed was at the helm, rather than it being a normal thing that is put in a player contract. Poor old George Barker may never recover from being Agombar'd.

It's not about the season. It's about Agombar. Again, I'm probably wrong.

The problem may be non existent. Or Cooper may have been picking the team up to that point, and the meddling has upset the apple cart. Who the fuck knows. Now is not the time. After the playoffs are done and dusted it would be good if one of the many many STFC journalists did some actual journalism to find out.
