Hey, what? Weird! Are we allowed to send Louis T back to Norwhich if he's injured (by mutual consent?).

How very odd. On one hand an experienced head  would be absolutely brilliant. On the other, not now - needed to do it beginning in January, the risk of unsettling the squad is a bit high...

been called up to the wales squad for their next game as well, so would miss colchester. Does that mean if we sign him we can get the game called off?

I thought turnbull and Stephens were on youth loans which are treated differently so maybe we do still have free loan places

Also aren't all our defenders on suspension tightropes? Makes sense to bring in some cover (imagine if Nathan and Stephens were suspended at the same time!)

I thought that the rule on loans was that you could only have 5 in the match day squad and at the moment with Stehens,Turnbull,Toffolo and Swift leaves us a spare place. Sounds like a sensible option for the run in although he's only had a few games this season so hope he's match fit

Sam seems to be hinting on Twitter that this may the reason for the signing.

Some choice picks from his wiki page:

Quote
his uncle is the former National Hunt champion jockey John Francome

Quote
Ricketts began his career at Oxford United, making his first team debut on 8 October 2000 in a 2–1 defeat at rivals Swindon Town.

Keep up the good work Sam.

I know Ricketts is related to John Francombe, so that may suggest some link to these parts...

Looks like he was in the Oxford Academy or with Oxford in his youth career so he must be from around here. Just a shame he chose the yellow side...

Did he play against us last season at their place? I wonder if he was impressed by what he saw and wanted to join us?
