I think most of us would have more than settled for this at the start of the day.

Sad to see Louis go, but at least we have him until the end of the season (provided that deal is done?) and we didnt get shafted with a shitty wet fart of a price for him, either.

Fair play to Power and Cooper.

Yep. Credit where credit is due....

Wonder what Alex Henshall makes of Louis Thompson's move as he was dismissive of Louis compared to his own talent but Louis has got a big money move whereas Alex was looking for a club

Henshall signed for Ipswich...they might face each other in an Anglian derby.

So then we keep the squad intact, add 2 players including our main target AND are left with 400k-ish to help balance the books. Well bloody done to all involved.

I agree.  Not the aspect that will set the pulses racing, I know, but the fact is that selling players every now & then has to be a part of our business model.  And this sale, for once, looks like it's been done professionally to the benefit of the club.

We have sold a player for proper money, to a proper club (none of this give away to Brentford/Bournemouth twaddle), with a sell on clause.  It's not the Swindon way, is it.

I hope Louis absolutely smashes him.

And Thompson off the wagebooks :-) Great window from the club. Our starting 11 looks very very strong now

What are these supposed comments being banded around? I haven't seen anything quoted. I'm assuming it is something along the lines of Henshall thinks he's better, etc etc

Still a bit worried about our strength in depth but have to agree with the consensus that looks like a pretty good set of business by Messrs Cooper and Power.

"You seriously comparing him to me"

He's got a shout there to be fair, Louis is much better.

No idea how Henshall is getting on at Ipswich to be fair to him, he may turn out alright.

After all the disappointment of the summer with court cases and lack of activity in players coming in, this happens......

Excellent.

I hope Obika will eat his shit sandwich of not making it at Spurs and kick on.

This will hopefully tempt some of the floaters to give it a go and come back.

I'm satisfied that Power and Chuckles have done all they can with the budget restrictions that we have.

Can only echo the positive comments.

We have brought in Stephens who will slip in nicely into the back 3 (Nathan, Turnbull and Stephens first choice with Branco backup?). I have been impressed with Turnbull so far, less impressed by Lelan who I can't see coming back after his loan expires.

And of course Obika who offers us something different up top and another forward was desperately needed.

Sad to see Louis go, but he was out of contract and we have managed to get some money for him, a signing on fee, and his services until the end of the season. Our midfield looks strong and we have yet to see what Rogers and Reeves can do.

The squad is still a little thin, but by the time we play Bradford on the 13th, we should have a good first 11 as well as decent back up on the bench.

Well done LP.

Although I agree with your idea of the back 3, it will be a bit rough on Branco, who appears to be improving very quickly and along with Byrne and Smith seem to be at a completely different level from last season.

Nice conundrum to have, though!

And, any particular reason that Stephens' loan is only til end of Jan?
