I have never said this before, but Wes Brown was brilliant. He had a cracking game! I thought Hargreaves was also a bit good.

Unlike last week Park played well too.  Maybe this Ferguson fella does know what he's on about. Wink

I know it won't, but I hope the final lives up to expectations, not some match where both sides are too scared to lose, lets just see both teams go for it, and whoever's better takes the trophy home.

Completely agree.

He cleared so many balls toward the end it was unreal.

Scholes was great apart from the unnecessary free kick on the edge of the area he gave away within the first minute or so.

Park worked hard as did Tevez.

If UEFA had a brain, they would now switch the game to Wembley.

You need a visa to get to Moscow (at £95 a pop), and they are going to have 40,000+ flying over from England in 3 weeks time.

That'll go down well with the fans who have already bought flights, booked rooms.

If Scholes could tackle he'd be a great player

are you implying Scholes isnt a great player?

Only the best English central midfielder of the last 20 odd years, countless trophies, some simply classic goals.

Part of, what was at the time the best midfield in the world.

If only he could tackle eh!

He tried to tackle last night and nearly gave away a penalty after 50 secs!

did anyone else notice Pleats comment about Scholes "...and when he was younger, he actually used to get a lot of goals from headers"

really David? i think you're mistaken, unless your memory is better than mine, which is unlikely.

United looked solid at the end. Van Der Sar is an annoying ponce. I'm glad Scholes scored.

He is past his prime now, but is still an excellent player.

Scholes > Gerrard > Lampard

I know, you're just fishing anyway, but meh  Cheesy

I thought Ronaldo was excellent. Was superb in the way he takes players away from spaces for the forward to run into it, while his distribution was great.

Brown and Ferdinand were immense, evra to keep messi quiet wihout getting booked was great too. I feared for United with park and Scholes in the line up, and while I still think Annderson would have been more effective in defending against Xavi and Iniesta, Scholes played well, Park was superb. Tevez ran the line well, overall a superb team performance.

Scholes is defininitely past his best, but his game's changing now. He sits deeper and sprays balls about instead of getting forward.

And yes Oxford fan, he scored quite a lot with his head in his early days!

I remember him scoring a hat-trick for England against Poland, and two of them were with his head.

he's small, but used to get into those positions a lot. He score seven out of 20 with his head one season.
