Cheers guys for all advice. Just to let you know that I have written a formal complaint to the insurance company which was ignored apart from they'd offer to pay for the excess if my horse died. I forwarded the complaint to the financial ombudsman who can help but will take over 6 months.
I filed the claim with the small claims court a month a go and they had til Friday to respond. to which they did. They now have 28 days to make a defence against me.
I will contact the citizens advice people, cheers Yeovil.
I have also forwarded my complaint to Watchdog and I've emailed the RSPCA.

Just wait. Legal Proceddings are abit like a game of chicken sometimes and it can be a case of who blinks first.
Both sides are aware of the issuies and you only have a certain amount of time to respond. As with most games there are ways to give you more space etc and different tactics. I find that being as diffcult and as quite as possible is the best trick. Just do the minial required by the court other wise you can play into the TPs hands by giving your hand away to soon. Also if you start shiting it when the other side put in a defence it can show you as being weak.
chill birdy, sit back and see what happens. You have already paid the issue fee. The only other fee you will have to pay is an allecation fee but that doesn't happen untill arfter the tp have put in a defence. You can always pull out when they do or try and agree settlement when they do.
I bet you a pint they send you a cheque within a week.

E&L.
Happy to take the monthly payment, try everything in the book not to pay out. Contradicting the small print in the contract was not a very good idea.

E&L Insurance limited.
They advertise themselves as Entertainment and Leisure Insurance and Equine & Livestock Insurance.
They insure people's weddings and things like that as well as pets. God help anyone that has to make a claim for anything.
They have also upped my premium without telling me since all this has been going on.
Nobody touch them with a barge pole.

E&L Insurance limited.
Just had a quick google on "E&L Insurance complaint", seems they are complete and utter ******* and yours is not an isolated case. I wondered if any of the other people that have suffered can give any more advice to you (assuming you can contact them). That said, you seem to have all the bases covered already. Good Luck.

quote from bully online.com regarding EE&L insurance NB. Bullyonline no longer endorses this company as we feel they do not conduct business in an acceptable manner.

Blimey. We were thinking of using E&L for our wedding insurance! Best not now! Any one got any recommendations on who else to use?!

Birdy, I hope to god this all gets sorted for you, and quickly. Feel for you with all this. If you still want some photos done, let me know and I'll arrange something with Rach.
Whatever you do, don't give up.
