We (Winterthur) start with a pre-season friendly against Freiburg on Sunday. Nothing like a good tussle with the Germans to get the season going. Unfortunately most of the locals have the same attitude to cricket as Yeovil.

Jiff?! The thirds!

All the first and second teamers put their names down so we had a stupidly strong team out!

I assume we won? Not seen anybody to find out...

for the 1sts yesterday we turned up and no-one was there. apparently they'd called the league to cancel and forgot to tell us. all this after they asked to move the game from its original date (in June) cos they've got a fete on their ground. the fuckin twats better have points deducted. after wasting 2 hours there and back we went to watch our 3rds play in a friendly which they won

today we beat chalford in a friendly by 23 runs. i scored 48 whilst our number 9 clubbed 30* off 11 balls and then took 3/21.

Are Chalford any good these days Boeta? I used to play for them many years ago and they were starting to go downhill from the team of the 70's / early 80's which got to the 1/4 finals of the National Village cup a couple of times.

1/4 finals? We won the thing twice!

Got to the quarters last year too and really did throw it away chasing about 170! Sad

Their bowlers were incredibly dodgy though!

You didn't hear what happened in the changing rooms afterwards, but that has been confined to the realms of time I'm afraid!

They're pretty average. they had their 1sts out whilst we had a mix of our 1sts, 2nds and 3rds. I think they scraped promotion to County League Division 2 last year but they'll struggle I'd have thought.
