How old is he "Da Silva" I mean.

Apprantly Wenger has come out and stated that whoever commited the tackle (I forget his name) should never play again.

I a way I do agree with Wenger, although maybe a life time ban may be a bit much. I think that such tough tackles should deserve more than a 3 match ban, although did the guy deliberately intend to break Da Silvas leg?, I doubt it very much.

Eduardo studs got stuck, as the player made a challage. I think it would be very harsh to ban him for life.

Taylor was hugely shaken up so it seems.

I think he should get longer than 3 matches but I think having to live with what hes done for a significant period of time is enough punishment as it is.

Hard to judge from that youtube clip, but it looked to me that Taylor went for and got to the ball but his momentum carried him into Edwardo. It didn't look like a deliberate lunge in, or even an attempt at a foul. Horrible as it is, it's just one of those things that happens.

Wenger has since retracted the statement calling for Taylor to be banned.

Just since the incident on Match of the Day (Sky Plus) and it didn't look like a dreadful tackle just unfortunate.

Fair play to Wenger for having a change of heart though.

Nonsense, it clearly wasn't malicious. It wasn't like Ben Thatcher running 50 yards out of his way to smash Pedro Mendes in the face. The punishment for a straigh red card is 3 games so that's what he should serve. Sadly it's a risk footballers have to play with, they've generally got it pretty easy so you've just got to accept these things happen and try to get on with it.

It does look absolutely horrendous though. Double compound fracture, yikes.

He should serve a ban that is as long as Eduardo's injury, basically if Eduardo is back in two years so is the C*nt Taylor. Rant over.

It was a bad tackle, but like others have said I genuinely don't believe it was a malicious tackle.  Whilst most players are total idiots, they are human, and I'm sure Taylor is feeling pretty damn horrible about the whole incident right now.  Hopefully Eduardo has the healing qualities of Henrick Larsson who came back after a similarly horrible looking injury.
