That garlic incident reminds me of something my aunt told me about my mum. Bless her, she trys hard with cooking but isn't very good. Apparently when she was trying to boil cabbage instead of boiling little bits of it she put the whole cabbage in. She said it was in the water for hours but didn't seem to be boiling.....
And then there was the time that we had Cheese and Onion flan. Myslef and my dad enquired as to the unusual taste, "OH NO" she said "I forgot to put the cheese in"

Boiling a whole Cabbage instead of little bits, that must have made her a right sour-kraut when she found out her mistake.

On the subject of cooking and big fuck ups, when I was younger I thought I'd do the decent thing and make my dad a sandwich before he got home from work.

He got in the door and was dead chuffed to see 2 big doorsteps with ham, lettuce and tomato in. He sat there for a while and then said ''this lettuce is bloody tough''.

I said ''should be fine, mum bought it fresh yesterday, look''.

''Thats fucking cabbage'' he said!
