There is plenty of good hip hop and plenty of shit stuff. You've just heard the shit stuff.

Here's one of my favourites (Eye Know - De La Soul)


I saw Flash DJ in Brunel, that was proper ace, although it is rumoured he actually had no involvement in this song, despite accredited to it (Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five & Melle Mel) - The Message


I've been well out of touch with the hip hop scene for years, not sure why. Maybe because all the crap that gets played like others have said. I'm just too lazy to spend time finding the decent stuff. Here's one from the last few years from Ugly Duckling:

to be fair there is some good hip hop around now (kanye west, lupe fiasco), but the amount of tripe their is far outways the good
