Thanks for the info Si Pie.

I have another query. My laptop seems to have a problem with the internet. Every now and then it has the status of 'limited connectibility' and then it takes me about 5-10 attempts to reconnect to the internet. My 2 flatmates who also have wireless laptops never have any problems like this and it just seems to be me that has the problem. I was thinking it could be some firewall that is trying to protect the laptop but that is really a stab in the dark.

Any suggestions of what settings I can check for this?

What's your operating system? What is theres?

What software are you using to connect to the wireless router?

What are your housemates using? Do they have the same adapters?

1 is on XP and one is on Vista the same as me. How do I know the software I use to connect to the router?

You'll have to bear with me, I am very thick! It may be easier to explain on MSN messenger if you use it?
