Hopefully the players will react positively to last night.

We've three players waiting in the wings, itching to make their mark and who knows, by Saturday we might have even more new signings.

I remember the exact point at which I lost faith in McMahon as a manager. We had just lost at home to Stevenage in the Cup and the next game up, spookily, was Crewe away. Obviously we were in what is now called the Championship in those days and the game was on Sky so I thought he would have no problem whatsoever in getting the players up for that one. We were absolutely diabolical and lost 2-0. That's when I knew he had to go.

That has no relevance whatsoever to how we will perform this Saturday of course. I just thought I would share it with you.
