Leyton Orient in the cup in 92 was it?  Freezing cold, first half was awful most of the players could hardly stand up.  Kerslake in particular was struggling.

Half time comes along we were stood on the stratton bank during half time, microphone man comes out and says the ref has assured us the game will not be called off.  So we carry on standing there, freezing our nuts off, and low and behold five minutes in to the second half the ref calls it off.

I don't think I have ever been that cold and pissed off at the CG.

I was on the Bank that day, I think the reason given was the unsafe state of the terracing rather than the pitch,  You could literally skate along the concrete.  The one and only time I took a flask of hot stuff to a game and about 5 layers of clothes.

Good call. This game was my first thought too.  I was on the bank as well. I'm sure the ref called it off due to a frozen pitch. Cue calls of shinanigans about not having to refund everyone if the game was called off after half time (doubt it was true though).
We got a fiver off the re-arranged fixture (or something like that).

Fuck me - they're communicating with the fans and keeping us informed

The pitch looks shocking in that photo, which was apparently taken today.

forecast is for showers almost constantly overnight. not sure how bad it is in swindon but the fields are full of puddles and standing water around here.

If they call it off, I hope they do it early in the morning, I have a long journey to make it get to the game tomorrow.

Question for anyone who lives near the ground - in your opinion what is the chance of the game being called off?

50/50 40/60 etc

I work next to it and although its pretty grey its not hammering down with rain or anything.

If their drainage works the way they say it does then I don't see a problem.
