I find the title amusing because it wasn't like he went to bed one day and woke up 30 stone heavier. There was a point when he was 5 stone overweight, 10 stone overweight, 20 stone overweight...
I find it crazy that they wait until it's almost too late. I have no sympathy for the morbidly obese, okay it's a vicious circle, but they're in that situation from there own hard work.

Why, I'm really nice in the real world santa?
For the record, i suppose it's kind of like arriba's hatred of smokers, i was once the wrong side of overweight (18+ stone i expect, i stopped weighing myself at 16.5 and lied to myself).
I then found my 40" trousers were too small and resorted to jogging bottoms so i didn't have to worry about sizes. I then accepted i had issues, got off beer, ate properly and am now 12 stone.
My sister was nearly 21 stone and i grew up defending her from bully's. She has now gone down to 12 stone, and she's still dieting. She looks good though because we're quite a tall family and she's 5'10". My other sister (5'8") is getting bigger and is now north of 18 stone, but she still lies to everyone.
So it's a bit of a strange issue for me, i'm very sensitive about the whole weight thing and can blow my top if i hear overweight people being bullied or joked about to their faces in a malicious way, however. At the same time, i have little sympathy for their often complicated problems because anyone can do anything if they put their mind to it.
