Town deal set for completion
Comment
Swindon Town could be under new ownership by tomorrow as the Andrew Fitton led takeover nears completion.
Talks looked to be in trouble after the Robins board issued three new amendments to the deal on Saturday but they have been ironed out.
Fitton, who started a family holiday today, is confident the deal will finally go ahead after protracted talks.
advertisement"Providing the lawyers agree the documentation, which they should do, the deal will go ahead," he said.
"Monday morning is now the critical time."
The news cannot come soon enough for Town fans, who saw their side collapse 3-0 to Brighton at the County Ground yesterday.
To add to their woes defender Ben Tozer looks set for a move to Premiership giants Newcastle, who are understood to have made a £1.1 million bid.
The offer is yet to be accepted but it is believed the board will give it the green light tomorrow.
