There will be plenty of others who are interested but might take a little time to make a move or be approached. These are just the desperate ones who spend all day watching Sky Sports News with a freshly typed CV always at the ready...

I'm sorry but forget Nijholt played for us, Brian Kilcline also played for us (well had a go) would you want him as manager?
Nijholt has coaching experience yes, but where? The Dutch 2nd division FFS!
He's a cunt is Martin Alllen but he's managed in England and he's passionate. Nijholt has also been coach at one of hollands top teams, who got to the final of the uefa cup and ran one of the countries best youth academies.

If I remember rightly, didn't Nijholt used to turn up to training in a Porsche 911? I always remember people saying he didn't need to work cos he was minted.
He was a fucking hard bastard too. Legs like tree trunks.

What would be better was a combination of all 3 men!
Nijholt and taylor cos they used to play for us, Taylor for his leadership, Nijholt for being hard and probably strict on his player, Allen cos hes a cunt and everyone would hate us!

The Dutch 2nd division FFS! which is actually a higher league than we're in now, if you want to pick holes! the standard is probably very similar. i think nijholt would bring a new style to the club and would be a breath of fresh air after a succession of stuffy old british managers ...i wonder whether he'd be willing to have taylor as his assistant? that would be my ideal management structure. i intensely dislike martin allen. he's a whinging, moaning arrogant cunt who has achieved very little. i honestly don't think i could stomach support a swindon side managed by him.

To get this in perspective.............. The current leaders of the Dutch 2nd division are averaging gates of 6000. And his team isn't mid-table, it's currently 16th.................... ..............out of 20.

English football is widely regarded as the best league in the world. Even our 3rd and 4th division games can regularly draw crowds of 8,000 +. The standard of football is also high. I wouldn't mind betting that a Dutch 2nd division club would struggle in the football league. Our game is very physical.

I have to agree Steve, Swindon are my team...no matter who is in charge, I may not be behind the manager 100% but I ALWAYS WILL BE the team.
As long as we have a team to support I will support them.

Martin Allen clearly is going to split the fan base.
Assuming the takeover takes place (touch wood ,etc) id like to see us have a manager that everyone can get behind from day one.Call me niave but I have a vision of the Board ,Team and fans all working together and being as one.I see the "busy bodies" change their focus into helping the club fill the exec room and empty advertising hoarding.Id like to see a sense of community return to the club thats why the appointment of the next manager is so crucial and not just for footballing reasons
