it was a stupid attempt at a foul by zaaboub which probably deserved a booking for intent but no way a red card.

styles lost the plot in the second half

He did lunge but he was nowhere near the man, a booking would have sufficed.

maybe this will be the lesson for sofi that he should pass it earlier, and not get caught on the ball.

Good point, there was two or three occasions where he could have layed it off to Cox but instead he tried to take on their entire team.  :x

Another childish lunge just because he lost the ball. He has no one to blame but himself.

but a red card though, pull the other one.

On another note, is Nicho injured? or just out of favour?

I can understand why it was given. I don't think it deserved a red card because he missed, but Zaboub can be a petulant little fucker - if he makes contact there it's a leg-breaker and therefore a red card is fair enough

Judging by the post-match interview both Nicholas and Blackburn have been injured but will be back very soon

it wasnt even close to being a leg breaker?! he was sliding on the floor for starters. It wasnt above the ball.

He let the deck Dan and by the letter of the law you can be sent off for that- I'm not going to have a row with you over it, harsh red I agree, I do however understand why Styles gave it. In a funny way it also calmed a potential ruck - quick card, no brawl - as opposed to a yellow and a huge riot.

It was a daft tackle. Not malicious but he needs to learn not to be so stupid.

i don't understand what this "intent" offence is - he went for the ball, is that illegal?

it didn't look as though he went in over the height of the ball and although it was a stupid challenge, it was his first tackle and a straight red was fucking absurd.

Ok Sonic...

By intent, they mean malicious intent. So he would have to have been trying to actually harm the guy for it to be a straight red

he went to win the ball, there was hardly any contact with the man!

so how the fuck do you use intent as justification?

how did he go to win the ball? the rovers player was running away from zaaboub and he lunged to try and catch his legs.

it was a stupid pointless attempt at a foul which he deserved a booking for but styles had lost it and gave him a red to even things up.
