Apparently the FL/FA have withheld paying STFC some sponsorship money owing to us.  They have directly paid £25,000 to Cheltenham in lieu of the debt we owed them.  We really are in the deep stuff. Crying

Well not really a suprise is it.........I notice around the ground almost half of the advertising boards are empty & the Townend isn't even sponsored. I wonder how much extra income that is losing us, Lambert is obviously doing a wonderful job there. Although to be fair I guess there aren't many businesses wanting to associate themselves with the shambles that is the business side of STFC.

I'd say that is fair enough then. If someone is giving the money to clubs before this lot get ahold of it. Atleast it is going to the right places then.

fair enough theyve got their money.there are some huge multi national companies based in swindon and  not having any form of sponsorship comming in from these companies is a failure on the part of whos selling our club to the local community from within the club. kigswood construction really says it all in terms of how the club sells itself. the club has no idea about selling itself.

Totally agree Gary.  As regards the lack of advertising boards and sponsorship obviously the sales and marketing deptartment are not doing their job and need to be replaced, hang on, he wouldn't sack his son-in-law would he?

Exactly, the club obviously doesnt try to branch out to companies like Honda etc.  I wonder how much the kingswood sponsorhip deal is, anyone know? Fuck all i should think.

£100,000 over 5 years, which is £20,000 a year.

the nationwide deal was £100,000 over 3 years, but they didn't want to sponsor swindon (or northampton) any more.

they still have a pitch side hoarding behind both goals, one of only a handful of local companies that do.

working for Honda myself i know that if an invite was sent to Honda top brass to lets say be guests of the club sat in the directors box for a game it would be a step in the right direction. they want to be seen as part of the community and stfc is a huge part of swindons community. i work with many fans from around the country and they cant understand why in a town with such big companies in it why we aint linked with them.

Because STFC have no idea how to market teh club.  I did soem work fro Fred Elliot on generating income streams and they are missing out on thousands upon thousands each week.  The marketing department is what you would expect from a sole trader!
