Think it's normal mate - I was explaining to someone the other day how I can remember things in relation to matches.

 I remember whole years, by relating them to seasons....when you've seen many moons like myself,  you start to lose track.

Time moves in seasons not years. Every good summer (Euros/WC)  is followed by a barron one. It's the law of football.

  Particularly true in the mid 70's when after the WC in Germany, we had Jim Barron in goal until about 77.

   I also remember stuff to do with birds, by football matches.  Close season is a bit of a problem mind,  I supose there's always friendlies.
