Took part in a charity football event in Brizzle yesterday and with the last tackle of the game got caught.

I thought it was just a nasty bruise, so drove home. Woke up this morning with a bit of discomfort, so went to work as normal. By 10.00 am it was hurting like a bastard, so I went to the doctors, who referred me to A&E in Yeovil, where they did an X-Ray and informed me I'd fractured my leg!

6-8 weeks off work and my legs in plaster until Wednesday, when they'll be fitting me out with some 'boot' thingy.

Does anyone fancy picking me up for the Gills game? Sad

Will work pay you sick pay? Some places don't, because of a sport related injury.

I went to be dreaming of cars last night.  But when I got up all I had was the horn.

the boot thing is great. I had a double dislocation and a fracture playing three years go (my foot was at a right angle from my ankle!) and after the cast came off I was sh*tting myself every time I knocked it or anything - those booty things are indestructible!

Could you drive with the boot on?

If I had an automatic I'd be alright, as it's my left leg.

Don't want to miss up to 8 weeks of football................. Sad

**UPDATE**

Had my temporary cast removed today, but instead of the new 'boot' thing (Which obviously costs too much for South Somerset Trust to provide) I've been fitted with a lightweight, weight-bearing cast in my choice of colour!

Not supposed to put any weight on it for the first 3 weeks (I'm in it for at least 6 weeks) but I'm seriously considering risking the drive down on Saturday.

So if you see a good looking bloke on crutches sporting a tasteful red cast on his leg, come over and say hello Cheesy
