Blimey. I always thought that it was legal... So if you file-share, you're breaking the law? But nobody does anything, right? There aren't gonig to be SWAT teams breaking through my windows at 4am to bum me, are there?
If it is illegal, why wouldn't they just create a law to make the programmes illegal too. Surely they are facilitating the illegal activities... Not that I want them too, I was just wondering how they had gone for so long without anything happenening.
Getting the pay-to -use p2p programmes for free is cool as.
i thought it was pretty much common knowledge that file sharing is illegal?
they can't make the programs illegal because technically there's nothing illegal about them and i think it's only letting people upload files from you on limewire that is illegal, not downloading them (for some reason due to strange laws).
Remember a few years back in Napsters glory days they grabbed an eight year olds parents as she downloaded a nursery rhyme. Just the sort of thing to make headlines and put the wind up folk.
that was in america though; you're far more likely to get done in america than over here as they've got the RIAA over there, who have no power here. we have no equivalent organisation.
