Don't use it on the road if you've sorn'ed it mate. I take it it's currently on a drive/in a garage, rather than just parked on the road cos they've have you for that as well.

You'd be surprised how many times coppers (who happen to be following you) radio in your registration plate just to check the car should be on the road. SORN car's are all flagged, so if you're unlucky and a copper happens to be following you, then you'll get a fine.

ah i didn't realise, thanks for the tip. considering mine is a rather battered old ford fiesta with 1 wing mirror, only two hubcaps, dent in driver door, self-modified parcel shelf to hold chav speakers and a big crack in the rear bumper it's probably wise not to risk it.

Yes the Police are constantly catching the uninsured these days,I think they have a game of unisured car Bingo going at Swindon traffic. We currently have 50ish cars at our garage that the police have impounded for this very reason,£105 to get it back plus £18 quid for everyday its sat in the compound.

Most cop cars are fitted with ANPR cameras now anyway, that's how they catch so many uninsured/tax dodging/banned drivers.

It's not a case of not getting done - what if you write off someone's car, or severely injure somebody ? - could ruin your (and the victim's) life.
