In the latest twist, according to the Adver, we're playing someone called VC Bad Ischl .....are you ready for this... VC apears to stand for Vespa Club, who seem to be an Austrian mod mob.
Someone somewhere is taking the piss.

I think it should be SV Bad Ischl?? Here are some interesting facts on Bad Ischl the town/village (pop 14,000), looks nice from the pictures I found). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_IschlI see this as an 'extra' mix of a training session/game rather than a proper friendly..

Judging by the fact we won 4-0 with a team full of trialists, I'd imagine it was the mods we played.....always a Lambretta man myself.

Another one of the trialists is a Portugueser winger called Hugo.
But it doesn’t sound like Sturrock is that overly impressed with the overall standard. In today’s BBC interview he mentioned that while the trialists are all technically adept he doesn’t know if they can adapt to the English game.
It is starting to sound fairly likely that these investors are definitely agents of sorts.

I thought that managers generally didn't like playing friendlies against teams that they'll be playing in the season?

The Portuguese Fallon, Guima... http://www.cdfeirense.pt/xsitev2/Ficheiros/imagens/Guima.JPGI wonder what will crop up in this foreign trial game shenanigans. King did a few just after the end of each season and never found anything other than a couple of French players Sabin’s agent brought over and that never came to anything. In fact Sabin’s agent played in one game and King ended up saying he was the best player on the pitch. Meh I need more rumours

Having random foreign trialists is always exiting. I think it's the prospect of somehow finding some crazy super player who those crazy foreign clubs have managed to overlook, or is desperate to play in England.

I'm not worried by the lack of goals. We scored 4 in the previous game and i'll only start worrying if we don't score when the season proper actually begins.
