I hope he fucks up and Magny Cours, I'm getting sick of ITV sucking his cock so much. I want to know about Formula One, not just Lewis Hamilton. He's not done anything to suggest he's particularly special. It's all very easy in the best car, at Montreal he was lucky with pit-stops and safety cars, and at Indianapolis Alonso could've easily had him but couldn't because they're team-mates. I agreed with Niki Lauda's comments on Hamilton's over-aggression.

He certainly has the best car, but to be 10 points ahead of your double world champion team-mate in your first year in F1 is quite special. Mind you I think Alonso is overrated...

I agree he can't be elevated to "greatness" until he has achieved something (i.e. win world championship). May take a year or two for that, but he's in with a chance this year.

As for over aggression/doing anything to win. Didn't do Schumi much harm taking out Hill in order to win the world championship

Not to that extent he didn't, nor did Hill when he was at Williams. It's just Hamilton, Hamilton, Hamilton, 5 seconds of something non-Hamilton, Hamilton, Hamilton's Dad, Hamilton, "Wow isn't Hamilton the best thing since sliced bread", Hamilton's Dad, and so on.

I have stopped watching the pre-race build-up now. It's got ridiculous

I'm not stopping anyone. Going to wait to see if he has what it takes before shooting my load.

I just want to hear about Formula One as a whole, not solely about some kid who's done fairly well in the best car after 7 races.

In F1 nowadays its 95% car, 5% driver, and Alonso has never been that special.

Only just seen this. It didn't do Schumi much harm in terms of what he achieved on paper, but in terms of being a true legend, I'd compare him to Maradonna. Horrible cunt was Schumacher, I'm sure the majority of non-germans hated him too.

That's like saying Mika Hakkinen was something special.

Again, you must be pretty good to be a twice world champion.

It's not like that at all. I want him to do well as much as the next man. It's just a shame ITV have to go ridiculously over-board in bumming him and totally neglect everything else.

Ok, maybe Hakkinen was a bad example, because he was actually a bit good. Probably best to compare with the Williams wins in the mid-90's. Villeneuve's and Hill's titles didn't really need particularly special drivers.
