You have to go a long way to beat the original release of Insomnia from Faithless, the one with the Pompey Chimes on - not the sped garage remix that was out late 90's.

Cafe Del Mar is better in my opinion.

More uplifting and euphoric.

For something a little more Old School I love Orbital - Chime is just a pure classic, and Belfast is the most awesome chilled out epic.

I also love this tune. It was also in the film Vanilla sky. So many great dance tunes have been mentioned actually.

Someone mentioned it already but Gouryella is another amazing tune, i love it when the DJ drops that gem.

There is also a great bootleg mix of Mauro Picotto - Lizard Vs Camisra - Let me show you which is just pure genius. First heard it in BCM and went and got it on vinyl and love it!

Does anyone have the pompey chimes version of Insomnia, i cant find it anywhere and love it!

If you get Reverence by Faithless and find the irreverence remix album they include two fantastic versions of Insomnia - both 10 minute epics.

I think Underworlds best three songs are non-album tracks and all off film OSTs Born Slippy (trainspotting), Rez (vanilla sky - although i didn't know that) and 8Ball (the beach).

if we are going down the electronic route then you can't go too far wrong with Radio Babylon, or Original Control by Meat Beat Manifesto - and the chap behind them, called something or other Dangers, is from Swindon I believe..

What sort of mixer have you got?

I've got a pcv 275. Quality mixer I got off ebay for 100 quid and some old vestax pdt 5000 decks to go with this.

Play trance mainly and a bit of house although don't get to use them as much as I want as I didn't brink them to uni.

My garage is full of vinyl...hardcore, techno, d'n'b, house - from about 93 onwards. Haven't got my decks anymore though :-(
