Nothing against Ireland or the Irish, having been there on many occasions, but I'd put faux Irishness into Room 101. All those fake 'authentic' Irish bars that have been springing up like a rash in the last few years make me want to sick Most with Australian or Eastern European staff. :shock: |

Yanks love it n all, which i feel is pretty sad and embarassing. Unless they are super inbred, there isn't gonna be 200m people with irish blood over there. Just look at google. Sad. To be honest there's a hell of a lot of Irish descendants in the US. There's also a lot of bandwagon jumpers mind. I'm sat here in my Ireland rugby shirt and I might even have a pint later. I'm proud of my Irish roots. |

I switched that off after 30 seconds before I involutarily slashed my wrists. Has anyone seen Riverdance? The thought of having to sit through that makes me want to stick my head in a gas oven (with the gas on of course). |

I have Irish roots but I don't pretend that I'm celebrating St Patrick, I'm English and proud. However I have lots of Irish friends and enjoy going out for a good sesh.. I also enjoy a pint of the black stuff!
I allow myself to wear a stupid hat and listen to the pogues on 17/03 because there aren't many days of the year when the pubs are full, the people are drunk and the music's loud..
I'm absolutely not religious yet I take part in Christmas/Easter.. I'm not Irish yet I go out on St Pat's day because it's a good laugh!
