I honestly couldn't give a cunting fuck what people think about standing up and language .

It's a fucking football match not fucking Opera.

Fuck off if you don't like it.

I'm more pissed off about how uniterested are players seem.

Am i being a cunt or out of order?

Maybe i am, i'm just passionate.

 Isn't Cunt a fantastic word?

Its interesting that the etymology of the word cunt, apparently derives fron the same Anglo Saxon word that gives us the name for the River Kennet....anybody au fait with the Swallowhead Spring will understand.

well you fucking lost me there Smiley

It was my son who had his arm broken, and is spending the night in Frenchay pending an operation to reset it. Thanks to those on here for their concern. been following Town for over 40 years and never seen anything like that. I just hope they are proud of themselves. One thing for sure we must not groundshare with those bastards.

pete, here's hoping your son makes a full and speedy recovery. Horrible situation by the sound of it and do what you can to ensure the bastards responsible are brought to justice. Good luck!

Someone from the club or indeed the trust needs to have a serious word with Wilts Bizzy Pc footie intell officer James Neighbour. He was warned last week that trouble was brewing. I hope those that suffered recover quickly, and that these unsavoury incidents dont stop you comiing next weekend.
I warned last weekend to those that would listen that word on wovers boards suggested they would be looking for trouble.
Glad you all got home ok(well...most of you anyway.)

you would think they would have some police presence outside the pub or something? the game was a disaster policing wise and its just a shame that some people who were enjoying a pre-match pint or 2 have to be beaten up for their efforts

it was obvious it would kick off.but attacking shirt wearing town fans is cowardly imo.
as for our fans blocking kids views.when some of you have kids and take them to football, maybe your opinions might change?
i didn't go yesterday due to other commitments, and i'm glad i missed it

Why were there no police inside the pub? I had my wallet stolen and am quite pleased I got away with just that. Managed to avoid the flying bottles and planks and make it back into the pub.

No one in the pub was looking for trouble. It was a mix of families, people in replica shirts with flags and people just there for a meal. The police said afterwards they had found the mob that did it and were escorting them to the John Cabot pub! The police were very nice to us but come on, what is the point in being there if you're going to round them up and walk them back to their pub where they can mingle and no longer be identified.

They did get Rovers to print me another ticket for the game though (it was in my wallet), and that is what I was most angry about. They policed the incident terribly and then allowed me to watch that 90 minutes of shit.

I in no way tollerate football violence but what sort of self respecting mob targets a pub garden full of women and children 'shirters' ?

It was very cowardly. I don't condone football violence but if their lads want to fight our lads away from shirters then let them get on with it. We were all just having lunch. They walked straight up to us and we all assumed they were Swindon.

They got within 15 yards, turned a table upside down and then shouted 'come on swindon' before letting fly a volley of bottles and then charging at us.

We drank in the Bishops Tavern, about a mile from the ground, down the Gloucester Road next to Montpeiler.

This sounds terrible hope you son is ok Pete.

What I find unbelievable is that 80 people can attack and rob people and then be escorted to a pub because they attach themselves to a football club.Last I heard theft and violence was an arrestable offence.

Get writing in to the Adver, this should end the ground share possibilty, can't risk non football fans in Town being attacked because they're "Swindon".

I bet the board are gutted.

Best wishes to your son, hope the op goes well.

I hate to say it but we could pay Rovers again in the Play offs.

if it helps paul, those guilty of the assault were "escorted away" by the police who were "aware of the threat".

great.

So why didn't they fucking stop it? It's not like they were short-handed is it? Probably all too busy telling people to write letters of apology for bad language. Jesus.

It was my mate who had his wallet nicked and my sister who had her phone nicked after we legged it inside - we found some police futher down the road and reported it and whilst they did a good job in getting my mate back into the game without his ticket (in the wallet) they were otherwise completely out of control - we were taken in the van down to the next pub to ID the bloke who took the wallet - I'd seen him nick it from the table, but seeing as though he probably had a bottle in one hand and a plank of wood in the other, i wasn't going to ask for it back.

Anyway, the police told us they'd 'followed' the bunch who'd stormed the Inn on the Green down to the next pub - what the fuck?! followed them?

Who've got a bunch of locals who've just broken one guys arm, anothers cheekbone, made an a bloke minding his own business hide in a hedge because he couldn't get back inside across the bottles being thrown...and you follow them to the next pub. "we know where they are" they told us....great. cheers for that.

A rivalry has built up this year with the Gas like there hasn't been before - not for everyday fans, but the thugs. It started in the Arkells in the last game - it snowballed to thisone and was worse - and it'll get far worse next time.

So what happens when we have a long away trip next year and Rovers are in Town - not that these muppets go to games much anyway, but frankly, rather than a trip to Accrington or Carlisle, i can see them fancying a bit of a ruck i Town instead.

If the board go ahead with entertaining a groundshare now it'll not only be incompetent, but plain dangerous and showing not only a lack of regard for the opinion of town fans, but for the sfaety of each and every one.

What more evidence do you need?

Just goes to show - you could have 2 police to every 1 fan but they have no power to do anything. They were very nice, but obviously scared. Its no use having 100s of nice coppers if they're just going to escort those thugs back to their home pub so they can get more pissed and arm themselves up again with bottles for after the game.
